Seat Sport, a subsidiary of SEAT created in 1985 after the brand became a member of the Volkswagen Group, is the company’s sports division, that creates and develops competition vehicles. SEAT’s presence in numerous championships held in different countries is an important value to raise the awareness of the brand. At the same time it allows the brand to test to the limits those elements which may be incorporated into standard cars in the foreseeable future, thus proving that a brand can compete and win while improving sustainable technologies enabling the construction of a wide range of engines.

In order to pursue its aims, SEAT Sport is equipped with facilities covering 16,000 square metres, located next to the production plant and the SEAT Technical Centre in Martorell, where 35 highly-qualified professionals work to make the company’s standard models into benchmark vehicles for both national and international competitions.

After reaching all its objectives in the World Touring Car Championship, winning two world titles in a row, in 2010 SEAT Sport will concentrate its efforts in offering maximum support to all those drivers who have chosen the León TDI WTCC, the León FSI WTCC (petrol) and the León Supercopa/Eurocup to race in the different championships, ranging from the World Touring Car Championships as private entries, to the diverse national championships, as well as the SEAT León Eurocup and the Supercopa SEAT León.

On-going continuous technological development by SEAT Sport at Martorell, will provide these drivers with the opportunity to carry on their fight for victories and titles.

In the World Touring Car Championship, SEAT will be widely represented by private-entry drivers and teams, proof of their confidence in the technological level of the Spanish brand’s cars, on the back of the successes achieved by SEAT Sport in 2008 and 2009.

And in the Supercopa SEAT León too, which is holding its ninth season in 2010; an event that has become one of the most successful single-brand championships in the history of international motor racing and which will be holding races in Spain, Italy, Germany and - for the first time - France.

The success of this event both in the field of sports and attracting entries for the 2009 season proves the validity of an approach capable of maintaining the interest of participants in even the most adverse circumstances.

The different Supercopa seasons –ninth in Spain, eighth in Germany, second and first respectively in Italy and France - will also have an international counterpart in 2010, the SEAT León Eurocup. This championship will be held for the third time concurrently with six European races of the WTCC in Italy, Belgium, United Kingdom, Czech Replublic, Germany and Spain. The 2010 season will be brought to a close by the final race held in Valencia.
